The 2012 election is a must-win for our country. The Republican Party is intent on turning back the clock on the United States when women weren’t equal, when no one thought about the planet and when those of different colors knew their roles. They want to turn America back into Mayberry–an America that was not fair for most of us.

The next president could turn the Supreme Court into a more politicized, conservative institution. Citizens United would just be the beginning.

The next president can determine the fate of Obamacare. The lack of universal healthcare is a stain on our otherwise great country. While Obamacare is not ideal, it is an improvement and would make healthcare more available to self-employed Americans and those who work in small businesses.

The next president will determine what action, if any, the United States will make to combat man-made climate change. President Obama has already instituted tougher mileage standards and his investment in renewable energy under the stimulus is the largest of its kind for green power. A Romney administration will undoubtedly reverse these decisions.

But this site is not just about this election. This site is about our nation in general. The Republicans are radical ideologues. They are intent on returning the United States to the oligarchs. No matter what happens in 2012, I’m convinced that until the Republican Party changes, WE CAN’T LOSE.
